Velma Costume

  • October 27, 2009 4:40 pm

A few years ago a woman came to our door dressed up as Velma (her child was dressed as Scooby-Doo). I have yet to see the costume in stores. It was something she put together herself. Velma

The traditional Velma costume is:

  • Dark Rim Glasses
  • Orange Turtleneck
  • Red Pleated Skirt
  • Orange Socks
  • Red Shoes
  • Bob

Plus-Size-Cowl-Neck-DressDo you know how hard it is to find an orange(ish) cowl neck top and red pleated skirt? Well, let me tell you, it is very hard! But today when I was at LaneBryant I saw a reddish orange cowl neck dress that I think would still work perfectly for a Velma costume if there accessories are in place.

All you would need is the orange tights (We Love Color), the black bob wig (Annie’s Costumes), and the black shoes. You should be able to find some dollar store black rim glasses.

And don’t forget the Scooby-Doo stuffy (Amazon).

Cute as a Bug

  • August 18, 2009 9:38 am

I’m not a fan of bugs. They know it and pretty much everyone in a one block radius knows it (don’t get me started on spiders). But there is one bug that is except — the lady bug. They are so cute. They don’t bite. Sometimes they multiply like rabbits — I once found over sixty of them in my livingroom. And they know how to dress. Who doesn’t look good in red and black? Plus-Size-Ladybug-Costume
